How to make your computer run faster

if we buy computer for the first time, I’m sure that our computer will run fast and without any problem. But after we use it, our computer will be slow, crappy and take a while to boot. Here are some tips to make your computer run faster

1. Slow start up
   There are many reason why our computer slowed down at the start up. If we want to make it faster, just go to start, run and type ‘msconfig’. After that, we uncheck unwanted programs that we don’t want to run in the start up and hit OK.
   The another way is to use the software called StartUp Delayer. This program helps us to determine how many program should be run after windows start up.
   
2. Slow loading start menu
   If the Start Menu items are loading slowly, you can open the Registry Editor by typing in the Run menu ‘regedit.exe’ and hit Enter. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop. Look for MenuShowDelay then double click to edit the value. The lower the number specified, the faster the Start Menu will load.
   
3. Slow right click start menu
   maybe when we right click on the computer, it run slowly. It happened because there are too many unwanted programs added unwanted entries there. We can fix it with program called mmm, install it and configure the programs that you don’t want to run to speed it up.
   
4. Slow send to menu
   If the send to menu load slowly, we can type ‘sendto’ in the run dialog and remove unwanted programs on it.
   
5. Slow defragmentation
   sometimes, windows defragmenter is slow. And we need other software to do the defragmentation. Defraggler is one of the best software for defragging and it’s FREE.
   
6. Slow loading My Computer Window
   If the My Computer Window loads slowly, in the Explorer Window, go to Tools >> Folder Options >> View and uncheck ‘Automatically search for network folders and printers”
   
7. Slow loading Add or Remove Programs
   This one is annoying because if we want to open it, we must wait for a moment. The alternative is use the all in one Ccleaner because with that software, we can run it faster than from the windows.
   
8. Slow Ending of Unresponsive Programs
   If you’ve clicked on ‘End Task’ if any program is running unresponsive, you might have noticed that the program is not terminated immediately. You can alter this by going to Run >> regedit.exe >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ and change this value to 1000.
9. Disable Animations and Appearance Overhauls to make the best performance
   If you want the best performance for your computer, we can do this way. Go to System Properties in the Control Panel. Click ‘Advanced’, then ‘Performance’ and click ‘Adjust for best performance’. This might boost your PC’s performance up a bit.
   
   

Additional tips

• Don’t keep installing software, just install the software that you really need.
• Defragment your computer. It will improve your computer’s performance.
• Keep less programs run on the system tray. The more we run the programs, the slower our computer will be.
• Always keep your computer clean, we can use the Ccleaner to clean junk and unnecessary entries.

Blu-Ray Disc

Blu-Ray Disc is the name of the new storage devices that looks like CD and DVD’s but it has more capacity in it.

Blu-Ray Disc was developed by BDA (Blu-ray disc association) and it finished in 2005. The BDA itself consist of many big companies that works together like Apple, Dell, LG, HP, and etc. They was working to made a new method of the storage devices. Before Blu-ray disc, we usually use CD’s or DVD’s that relying on red laser to read or write data. On blu-ray disc, they uses blue-violet lases instead, hence it’s name is blu-ray. The advantage of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB. Pioneer has recently pushed the storage capacity to 500GB on a single disc by using 20 layers.

nowadays, blue ray become more popular because it provide us a huge storage space that means we can get better quality of movie or data that we want to save. The blu-ray disc was recently used in PS3 console, new movies, etc.

Nokia 3G Booklet, Nokia’s first Net book

I know that nokia is one of the biggest company in cell phones, but i don’t know that Nokia want to compete in Net book and lately, Nokia introduce their first Net Book into the public at 2th of September 2009. Nokia has their own name for their Net book, that is “Booklet”. It has minimalist and elegant design like the one that Apple has for Macbook Unibody.

This Nokia Booklet have complete feature including the integrated OVI facility, wifi, 3G, AGPS and bluetooth. and for the operating system, it use the microsoft’s brand new product that is Windows 7. The most wonderful from this Booklet is the battery power, it used the 9 cell battery and can be used up to 12 hour.

The price is still to expensive, it’s about $ 799 or Rp. 8.000.000,- and I think that it must be a little bit cheaper because it’s competitor, Apple will release it’s new product in no time..
